Mission: To provide an opportunity to fulfill an educational goal to benefit to self, family, and community.

The Adult Education program offers FREE GED CLASSES at the Vocational Skill Center at 111 West Fatco Road in Whiteriver AZ(behind the KNNB radio station).

You can enroll for classes:

 
  • If you are at least 18 years old.
  • If you never graduated from high school.
  • Are a White Mountain Apache tribal member or non-tribal member enrolled in another tribe.
  • Are a resident of the White Mountain Apache Tribe.

As a student in the Adult Education program, you will study in a self-paced program to earn your Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma(GED) presented by the State of Arizona Department of Education.

The GED test measures if you learned the skills and general knowledge required in a four-year high school education. The five tests you take to receive your GED diploma are:

 
  • Language Arts, Writing Parts I&II(includes essay).
  • Language Arts, Reading.
  • Social Studies.
  • Science.
  • Mathematics, Part I&II.

The test fee will paid for elgible students enrolled in the Adult Education Program, who meet the requirements to take the offical GED test.

To enroll you will schedule a Placement Test:

 
  1. The Placement test must be scheduled in person the week of the month except during the months of April and November.
  2. Placement Tests are administered the first full week once a month.
  3. The tests are taken Monday through Thursday at 9:00 am or at 1:30pm.
  4. There are no Placement Tests scheduled in December, May, June, and July.
  5. No new students are accepted the months of December, May, June, and July.
