Job Corps Program |
Introduction |
The Off Reservation Boarding Schools Program was handled under the Bureau of Indian Affairs for the past several years. However, the Bureau of Indian Affairs/Office of Indian Education Program came to a closure on June 30, 2006. Therefore, effective as of July 01, 2006 the ORBS Program is now under the direction of the White Mountain Apache Tribal Education Department. The Education Department handles all inquiries pertaining to Boarding Schools.
|
Purpose |
The Education Department will focus on an additional factor to help assist, educate, and promote a better lifestyle for the youth of the community and its members. The ORBS Program will give potential students who are interested in attending these Boarding Schools more opportunities to enhance their educational values. With a wide range of school activities within these Boarding Schools, the students will be able to interact and be active with clubs and organizations offered. The Job Corps Program will provide room and board, health care, an allowance for everyday, a safe home without drugs or violence, and the best education and job training program in the nation.
